Role Overview
The Talent Set are delighted to partner with our client on a fantastic Business Development Manager role. The successful candidate will lead efforts to identify, develop, and secure statutory funding opportunities, building strong relationships and shaping proposals to support services based around this charity's cause.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and pursue new funding opportunities from government bodies, health agencies, and other public sector organisations.
  • Conduct market analysis and horizon scanning to spot emerging funding trends aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Lead the development of bids, proposals, and applications, collaborating with internal teams to craft compelling, evidence-based service models.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, commissioners, and partner organisations, to support delivery and influence.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and consortia to strengthen funding bids and expand organisational impact.
  • Coordinate internal activities related to funding opportunities, ensuring a clear pipeline of prospects and maintaining up-to-date tracking.
  • Monitor, report, and evaluate activity, capturing lessons learned to continuously improve business development processes.
  • Contribute to organisational planning and internal decision-making around resource allocation and opportunity selection.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in business development, with a successful track record of securing statutory funding and contracts.
  • Knowledge of the statutory funding landscape, including local and national government, health, and social services.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships with senior stakeholders and statutory bodies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain a robust pipeline of prospects.
  • Commitment to the organisation’s mission and a keen interest in place-based and partnership-led approaches.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

What’s on Offer
Salary: £227.81 a day (£196.29 basic + £31.51 holiday)
Full time (part-time is to be considered!)
6 month contract
To start in October
