Role Overview
The Talent Set are delighted to partner with their client on a fantastic Head of Communications role. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape and lead strategic communication efforts, enhancing the organisation’s reputation and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organisational goals.
  • Lead and oversee internal and external communication activities, ensuring consistent messaging across channels.
  • Manage media relations, including press releases, briefings, and relationship building with key media contacts.
  • Lead crisis communication efforts, providing guidance and support to minimise reputational risks.
  • Collaborate with leadership to shape organisational messaging and brand positioning.
  • Oversee content creation for digital, print, and broadcast platforms.
  • Measure communication effectiveness through analytics and feedback, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a communications team to foster high performance and professional growth.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in strategic communications, preferably within the non-profit or higher education sectors.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute communication plans under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in media relations and managing media crises.
  • Analytical skills to assess communication impact and optimise campaigns.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

What’s on Offer
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000
