Role Overview

The Talent Set are delighted to partner with a wonderful International Development Charity to recruit a fantastic Head of Fundraising & Communications role. This strategic position involves leading the organisation’s fundraising and communication efforts, fostering new partnerships, and enhancing branding to support sustainable growth and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, diversifying income sources across global donor segments.
  • Identify innovative funding models, including individual giving, corporate collaborations, and nature-based solutions.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with institutional donors, foundations, corporate partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Lead engagement activities, representing the organisation at key forums and events to promote visibility and support.
  • Oversee the creation of compelling proposals and donor communications that highlight impact and organisational needs.
  • Establish and oversee communication frameworks to consistently articulate the organisation's mission, values, and achievements.
  • Manage and empower a remote, multi-located team, ensuring collaboration, efficiency, and a cohesive culture.
  • Ensure fundraising activities meet high standards of transparency, compliance, and ethical practice.
  • Collaborate across departments to streamline processes, improve bid development, and enhance organisational effectiveness.
  • Monitor and report on fundraising targets, impact, and strategic progress to leadership and trustees.

Person Specification

  • Extensive experience (8–10+ years) in fundraising, partnerships, or communications within the INGO sector, with significant leadership expertise.
  • Proven success in securing multi-year funding from institutional and philanthropic sources and developing innovative financial models.
  • Ability to set clear strategic priorities, measure progress, and deliver results that strengthen organisational reputation.
  • Skilled in building effective teams and leading complex initiatives across diverse, global environments.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with strong copywriting and presentation capabilities.
  • Knowledge of donor compliance, safeguarding standards, and ethical fundraising practices.
  • Data-literate with experience of CRM tools and insights-driven decision making.
