Role Overview
The Talent Set are delighted to partner with our client on a fantastic Head of Philanthropy role for a maternity cover contract. The successful candidate will lead the organisation’s high-value giving programme, nurturing relationships with donors, developing strategies for growth, and ensuring sustainable income streams to support children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the organisation’s philanthropic income strategy, including Major Donors, Trusts & Foundations, and Mid-Value Donors.
- Build, maintain, and steward a diverse portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, Trusts, and other supporters.
- Implement donor engagement plans to re-engage lapsed supporters and cultivate a pipeline of future donors.
- Manage and develop the Philanthropy team, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture aligned with organisational goals.
- Oversee the delivery of key fundraising campaigns, events, and maximise income opportunities from donors and supporters.
- Create and monitor budgets, ensuring activity aligns with financial targets and organisational objectives.
- Act as an ambassador, promoting the charity’s work and values to external stakeholders and within the sector.
- Work closely with communications teams to enhance brand awareness and supporter engagement.
- Utilise data and supporter feedback to refine strategies and ensure high quality donor experiences.
- Support governance activities, including the Philanthropy & Corporate Board, to strengthen supporter networks and fundraising capacity.
- Ensure all relationships with supporters are effectively stewarded and provide regular updates to promote ongoing engagement.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in high-value, gift, or major donor fundraising, ideally within a charity environment.
- Demonstrable success in managing and developing a team, leading to increased income and supporter engagement.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence a diverse range of supporters.
- Excellent communication skills, able to inspire confidence and clearly articulate the charity’s mission and impact.
- Well organised, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse data, sector trends, and supporter feedback to inform planning.
- Collaborative and inclusive approach, able to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Commitment to organisational values of kindness, excellence and courage.
What’s on Offer
Salary: £50,000-55,000
12 month contract
Hybrid working - 3 days in the office in North London
