The Talent Set are delighted to partner with a fantastic health research organisation looking for an interim Head of Strategic Communications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape and lead communication strategies that enhance the organisation’s reputation and engagement across diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Full planning responsibility across the communications function to effectively deliver the strategy, setting overall standards and identifying future opportunities
Lead the creation of compelling content for various channels to enhance brand visibility and reputation
Helping create a centralised communications function ensuring a more integrated and collaborative approach.
Provide collective organisational stewardship and support the development of organisation-wide strategies and policies, and lead on associated national implementation programmes and transformational change initiatives.
Coordinate stakeholder engagement and ensure consistent messaging across internal and external platforms
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts, making data-driven improvements
Foster a collaborative environment, guiding and supporting communication teams and external partners as needed
Stay informed about industry trends to keep communication practices innovative and effective
Person Specification
Proven experience in strategic communications or related leadership roles
Experience working in health/research or academic or clinical environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences
Strong leadership abilities and experience managing teams and external agencies
Strategic thinker with the capacity to translate organisational objectives into compelling narratives
High level of organisational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities
What’s on Offer This is a 6-month contract starting mid-November with interviews happening ASAP. The role is paying between £61,759 - £73,708 + London weighting if eligible (on a day rate inside IR35)
