Communications Manager
The Talent Set are delighted to be working with a leading health research organisation to recruit a Communications Manager.
This is a varied role combining strategic communications, campaign delivery, digital content and media relations. The postholder will divide their time between leading communications projects across a national research network and supporting a busy press office function.
You will develop multi-channel communications plans, translate complex health and research information into clear and engaging content, and help secure national media coverage. You will also work closely with colleagues and senior stakeholders across a large and complex organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Developing and delivering integrated communications plans and campaigns for a range of audiences.
Turning complex health and research information into clear, compelling messages.
Creating and reviewing content for websites, social media and email newsletters.
Supporting proactive and reactive media relations activity.
Drafting press releases, briefings, statements, key messages and responses to media enquiries.
Building strong relationships with internal teams, senior leaders and external stakeholders.
Ensuring communications are consistent with organisational objectives, values and brand.
Monitoring and evaluating communications activity to improve future campaigns.
Supporting communications during a period of organisational and cultural change.
The Successful Candidate
Broad communications experience across campaigns, digital content and media relations.
Experience working within a professional press office and responding to journalists.
A track record of securing national, specialist or trade media coverage.
Strong writing skills, with the ability to make complex information accessible to different audiences.
Experience developing campaign ideas and delivering them across multiple channels.
Knowledge of social media, email communications, content management systems and SEO.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to deadlines.
Experience within health communications or a similarly complex organisation.
What’s on Offer
Salary: £41,064–£48,822
Location: Leeds or London
Hybrid working, with at least 40% of working time based in the office
