The Talent Set is working with a well-known charity to recruit an Interim Head of Campaigns & Marketing Communications on an initial 4–6 month contract.


This is a hands-on leadership role, providing stability and direction to a busy marketing and communications function during a period of transition. You'll oversee a team spanning digital, brand, storytelling, multimedia, communications and social media, ensuring key campaigns remain on track while identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support to a team of six marketing and communications professionals.

  • Act as the key link between the marketing team and senior leadership, ensuring priorities are aligned and delivered.

  • Oversee the planning and delivery of major campaigns across fundraising, services and commercial activity.

  • Review and approve campaign assets, copy, creative materials and communications outputs.

  • Monitor performance across digital, social, email and paid channels, ensuring activity supports wider organisational objectives.

  • Manage team workload and capacity, prioritising projects and creative requests.

  • Oversee budgets, supplier relationships and invoice approvals.

  • Review existing marketing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, particularly around campaign delivery, asset production and sign-off processes.

Immediate Priorities

  • Build relationships with direct reports and key internal stakeholders.

  • Review current campaign plans, content calendars and project workflows.

  • Take ownership of campaign sign-off processes and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Ensure the successful delivery of several high-profile campaigns scheduled over the coming months, including fundraising, awareness and legacy-focused activity.

About You

  • Significant experience leading marketing, communications or campaigning functions.

  • Strong people management experience, with the ability to support, motivate and develop teams.

  • Proven track record of delivering integrated campaigns across multiple channels.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and quickly getting up to speed.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with senior leaders.

  • Experience within the charity or not-for-profit sector would be highly advantageous.

  • Available to start at short notice.

What's on Offer

  • Initial 4–6 month contract.

  • 4 days per week 

  • £213.44 per day PAYE + £32.45 daily holiday pay (£245.45 total PAYE per day).
