Role Overview:
The Talent Set are delighted to partner with our client on a fantastic Interim Major Donor Manager role. This is a key temporary position focused on assessing and developing a high-value donor portfolio, strengthening relationships, and identifying future fundraising opportunities to support the organisation’s strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the current major donor portfolio, pipeline, and strategic fit for growth.
  • Review existing donor relationships and identify new engagement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement tailored relationship and stewardship plans for high-value supporters.
  • Cultivate relationships with donors and prospects to understand their motivations and strategic interests.
  • Explore donor networks to expand support and uncover additional fundraising potential.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on future supporter engagement, investment, and resource needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maximise opportunities and share insights.
  • Progress opportunities within the pipeline, including securing philanthropic support where feasible.
  • Take full ownership of the project, providing regular updates and strategic guidance.

Person Specification:
  • Proven experience in major donor relationship management, philanthropy, or high-value fundraising.
  • Track record of assessing donor portfolios and developing strategic fundraising approaches.
  • Ability to quickly understand new fundraising landscapes, identify risks, and mature opportunities.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, including engaging high-net-worth individuals and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience creating tailored cultivation and engagement strategies.
  • Confident working autonomously, taking ownership of projects from start to finish.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate pipeline potential and prioritise actions.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to adapt strategic thinking to hands-on relationship development.
  • Available to start in July.

What's on Offer:
Salary: £166 - £207 per day + daily holiday (inside IR35).
Location: Remote (UK based)
Contract: Initial 3 – 6 months (potential to get extended)
