The Talent Set is delighted to be partnering with Whizz Kidz to recruit to a brand new Major Gifts Manager role, following sustained growth and development of the philanthropy portfolio.
Major Gifts Manager
Salary - £42,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience
Location: London (hybrid working of 2dpw at London Bridge HQ)
As the UK’s leading charity for young wheelchair users, Whizz Kidz provides life-changing equipment, support and confidence-building experiences for young people, all while campaigning for a more inclusive society. With an ambitious new organisational strategy underway, this is an exciting time to join a mission-driven organisation where fundraising directly powers transformational impact.
Working closely with the Head of Major Gifts and Special Events, you’ll play a key role in expanding and strengthening a programme that is already delivering impressive six-figure gifts and building a promising pipeline of high-net-worth supporters.
You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of existing and warm major donors, particularly those who were introduced to the charity through the Childhood Can't Wait campaign, many of whom have clear potential to increase their support. Alongside this, you’ll help develop a sustainable prospect pipeline, enabling long-term, multi-year income growth.
This is a role with real autonomy and development potential and would be ideal for someone ready to step up or deepen their experience in major donor fundraising within a supportive, ambitious team.
As Major Gifts Manager you will:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors, delivering tailored cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans
- Identify and qualify new major donor prospects, proactively developing a strong pipeline
- Create compelling, personalised proposals aligned to Whizz Kidz’ strategic priorities
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, including the CEO, to support donor engagement and high-value asks
The role would best suit:
- A relationship-led fundraiser who understands how to build trust, move conversations forward, and unlock long-term philanthropic support
- Someone with experience managing or supporting relationships with high-net-worth donors, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to listen, influence and build rapport at all levels
- An individual with confidence in making financial asks and developing tailored donor propositions
- Someone with a collaborative mindset and desire to work closely with internal teams and senior leaders
Please get in touch as soon as possible to express an initial interest, the deadline for applications (CV and cover letter) is Thursday 4th June with first stage interviews scheduled to take place virtually the following week.
