Role Overview
The Talent Set are delighted to partner with our client on a fantastic Philanthropy Manager role. The successful candidate will lead the organisation’s trusts, grants, and foundations fundraising efforts, developing a strategic pipeline to grow and sustain income from key philanthropic partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a trusts, grants, and foundations fundraising strategy aligned with organisational goals.
- Secure multi-year, five- to six-figure donations through compelling applications and business cases.
- Manage a diversified pipeline of funding opportunities, from research to reporting, ensuring a steady income stream.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with existing trust and statutory donors, providing regular updates and recognition.
- Collaborate with various teams to craft tailored funding proposals that highlight the organisation’s impact and outcomes.
- Conduct ongoing research to identify new funding prospects, prioritising those most aligned with the organisation’s needs.
- Oversee all reporting and communication with funders, maintaining high standards of accountability and transparency.
- Prepare and manage a delegated budget for trust and foundation fundraising activities, tracking income and expenditures.
- Maintain accurate records of income, expenditure, and donor engagement on internal databases.
- Act as a trusted advice source on trusts and foundations fundraising within the organisation, supporting colleagues and leadership.
- Monitor sector trends to ensure the organisation remains competitive and innovative in its approach to philanthropy.
- Support other tasks related to income generation and organisational development as required.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in trusts, grants, and foundations fundraising, with a track record of securing significant, multi-year donations.
- Excellent written communication skills, capable of producing persuasive applications and reports.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to steward and develop donor partnerships.
- Proficiency in researching funding opportunities and matching projects to funder priorities.
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with donors and stakeholders by phone or in person.
- Organised and detail-oriented, skilled at managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of the UK philanthropic funding environment and statutory funding landscape.
- Capable of working collaboratively across teams and contributing to organisational goals.
