Role Overview

The Talent Set are delighted to partner with a reputable and forward-thinking Trade Association recruiting for an interim Director of Membership and Commercial Growth.

This is a pivotal leadership hire. The organisation is at a clear commercial turning point and requires an experienced, senior operator who can lead a meaningful transformation of its membership proposition, commercial income model and events strategy

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase membership numbers and enhance member value.
  • Lead initiatives to identify new commercial opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Oversee membership retention programs and membership communications to foster engagement and loyalty.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including current and prospective members.
  • Drive innovation in membership products and services to meet evolving needs.

Person Specification
  • Proven experience in membership growth or business development within professional organisations or similar sectors.
  • Experience working with a entrepreneurial commercial mindset.
  • Demonstrate understanding of marketing and communications input and offering.
  • Strong strategic planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret data and utilise insights to make informed decisions.

12 month contract, 4 or 5 days. 
£105-125k (able to look at day rate)
